Description of key information

In accordance with point 9.3.1 and 9.3.3, Column 2 (Specific rules for adaptation from Column 1) of Annex IX of Regulation (EC) No. 1907/2006, adsorption/desorption screening is not required if the substance has a low potential for adsorption and its relevant degradation products decompose rapidly. The ready biodegradability of the read across substance (sodium 5-oxo-DL-prolinate) was determined as 74.4 % after 28 days, and as such the registered substance (sodium 5-oxo-L-prolinate) is also considered to undergo rapid decomposition. Furthermore the substance has a low log Pow and hence has a low potential for adsorption. On this basis, adsorption/desorption testing has been omitted.
