Additional information

A literature review was conducted. In a weight of evidence approach the literature values were evaluated. REAXYS ( Vints,V.V. et al.; Bulletin of the Academy of Sciences of the USSR, Division of Chemical Science) reported the density of thioglycol to be 1.182 g/cm3 at 20 °C. The Hazardous Substances Data Bank (HSDB) reports the density to be 1.1798 g/cm3 at 25 °C and the GESTIS database reports the density to be 1.18 g/cm3 at 20°C.

Three independent literature sources report the density in the same range. Thus, a density of 1.182 g/cm3at 20 °C from REAXYS ( Vints,V.V. et al.; Bulletin of the Academy of Sciences of the USSR, Division of Chemical Science) which is a peer reviewed database was chosen as key value for the relative density.
