Description of key information

Two independent O.E.C.D. test guideline 201 studies were conducted on the analog test substance 2,3-epoxypropyl neodecanoate.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

EC50 for freshwater algae:
1.2 mg/L

Additional information

Findings from two independent O.E.C.D. test guideline 201 studies conducted with the structural analog 2,3-epoxypropyl neodecanoate demonstrated that the algal EC50 value was 1.2 - 3.5 mg/L. Therefore, the test substance is Toxic to acquatic organisms and may cause long-term adverse effects in the aquatic environment. Neononanoic acid glycidyl ester is also expected to cause similar adverse aquatic effects.
