Additional information

For the assessment of the acute toxicity of 2-ethyl-N,N-bis(2-ethylhexyl)hexylamine (CAS 1860-26-0) to fish experimental data are available.

In a non-GLP study conducted according to OECD Guideline 203 the 96-h LC50 was determined to be > 460 mg/L [nominal, BASF AG, 1985, rep. no.: 84/425]. Oncorhynchus mykiss was used as a test organism in this study.

Moreover, a non-GLP study was conducted with the test item in accordance with DIN 38 412. In this static limit study Leuciscus idus was used as a test organism. The 96-h LC50 was determined to be > 10000 mg /L (nominal, BASF AG, 1988, rep. no.: 10F0647/875060). No analytical monitoring was performed.

However, in both studies no analytical measurements were performed due to the poor solubility of the substance and undissolved oily test substance was visible on the water surface.

The result indicates that the test substance is not harmful to fish up to its maximum water solubility.
