Stability

According to structural properties, hydrolysis is not expected.

After evaporation or exposure to air, 2-ethyl-N,N-bis(2-ethylhexyl)hexylamine will be rapidly degraded by phtochemical processes.

 

Biodegradation

Based on results of the analogue substance Di-(2-ethylhexyl)amine (CAS 106-20-7), which has a similar stucture, the compound is not readily, but moderately biodegradable. This is confirmed by QSAR models for predicting the biodegradation of chemicals.

 

Bioaccumulation

Based on a weight-of-evidence approach significant accumulation in organisms is not to be expected.

 

Transport and distribution

Adsorption to the solid soil phase is expected. From the water surface 1-Hexanamine, 2-ethyl-N,N-bis(2-ethylhexyl) will not evaporate into the atmosphere. Over time, the substance will preferentially distribute into the soil and sediment compartment.
