Key value for chemical safety assessment

Explosiveness:
non explosive

Additional information

The test item was investigated for its explosive properties with regard to shock, friction and thermal stress using the BAM fall hammer test, friction test and the steel tube test. In contrast to the positive control 1,3-dinitrobenzene, in none of the tests any sign of ignition, explosion, sparks, flames or crepitating could be obserevd for the test item. Therefore, it is considered to be not explosive.

Justification for classification or non-classification

Based on the results obtained following EU guideline A14, the test substance has no explosive properties and no classification is required according to Directive 67/548/EEC (DSD) and Regulation (EC) 1272/2008 (CLP).
