Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Additional information

The oxidizing properties of test substance were determined.

Powdered mixtures of test substance and cellulose were prepared in provided weight ratios. Burning time of prepared mixtures was recorded. Burning time was compared with burning time of reference mixture (barium nitrate and cellulose).

The test substance in a mixture with cellulose behaved differently from a mixture of an oxidizing agent, barium nitrate, with cellulose. Burning of mixtures of the test substance with cellulose was much slower than that of mixtures of Ba(NO3)2 and cellulose and thus the test substance is certainly not a better oxidant than the reference substance Ba(NO3)2.

On the basis of test results the test substance, Humic acids, sodium salts, should not be considered as substance with oxidizing properties.

Justification for classification or non-classification

The burning of the test substance with cellulose was much slower than the burning of reference substance with cellulose.

The reference substance is better oxidant than test substance.
