Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

The static, freshwater, 7-day study was conducted on Pimephales promelas with nominal test concentrations ranging from 595 - 5250 mg/L.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Fresh water fish

Fresh water fish
Effect concentration:
595 mg/L

Additional information

No long-term toxicity to fish data were available for the test substance. Therefore, a chronic fish toxicity study with sodium sulphate was used as a read across to fulfil the data gap for the test substance. The underlying hypothesis for the read-across is that the test substance hydrolyses to form sulphuric acid and potassium sulphate. The read-across substances have common precursors and/or breakdown products which result in structurally similar chemicals (e.g. the metabolic pathway approach of examining related chemicals such as acid/ester/salt). Additional documentation, provided within the IUCLID Assessment Reports section, supports the read-across approach.
