- The solutions were prepared by diluting the stock solution (5000 mg/L) (volumetric pipette / volumetric flask for intermediate stock solutions of concentration 1000 and 100 mg/L). The solutions were prepared by measuring the required amount of stock solution with an automatic pipette and filling up in a measuring cylinder.

- The test beakers were left for 24 hours without feed addition and illumination. Thereafter, the count of immobile daphnids was done. The vessels were swiveled lightly. If the animals showed no motion or merely moved the feelers slightly, they were paid as immobilized.
The pH and oxygen concentration in the test vessels were measured at the beginning and end of the test.
