PBT assessment: overall result

PBT status:
the substance is not PBT / vPvB
Justification:

Although very persistent, C4 acrylate does not meet the criteria for PBT or vPvB in aquatic or terrestrial organisms.  The overall conclusions of the preliminary PBT assessment, based on available data, are that the screening criteria for PBT/vPvB are not met and that further testing in the scope of the final PBT assessment is not required. In addition, due to technical controls in the manufacturing facility as well as rapid expected degradation of the limited amount released to the atmosphere and the fact that this is a monomer which reacts rapidly to form polymers, exposure to the terrestrial and aquatic environments is not expected.

Likely routes of exposure:

C4 acrylate is not a PBT or vPvB substance; therefore the emission characterization does not need to be conducted.
