Description of key information

Hydrolysis is not relevant in regard to abiotic degradation in the environment (DT50 > 350 d)

No experimental studies investigating the abiotic hydrolysis of 1,2,4-Benzenetricarboxylic acid, tri-C9-11-alkyl esters (CAS No. 94279-36-4). However, in accordance with Annex VIII, column 2 (subsection 9.2.2.1) of Regulation (EC) No. 1907/2006, testing for hydrolysis as a function of pH is not required since the substance is highly insoluble in water (< 0.05 mg/L). In addition, QSAR calculations (HYDROWIN v2.00) support the assumption that hydrolysis is a negligible degradation pathway for this substance, with DT50 values > 350 d (at pH 7).
