In a reliable OECD 121 GLP compliant study Behenyl Bottoms were determined to have an extrapolated Log Koc of >6.61.
This result is used in a read-across approach in the REACH registration of Alcohols, C12 -18, distn. residues.

Behenyl Bottoms, characterized as C18-22, distillation residues (CAS No. 1160164-88-4) were assessed for its absorption/desorption potential by determining the Log Koc. In an reliable (Klimisch 1) GLP compliant study conducted according to OECD Guideline 121 (Estimation of the Adsorption Coefficient (Koc) on Soil and on Sewage Sludge using High Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC)) the extrapollated Log Koc of Behenyl Bottoms was found to be> 6.61.
This result is used in a read-across approach in the REACH registration of Alcohols, C12 -18, distn. residues.
