Constancy of the tensiometer readings was achieved with the seventh determination.

The mean value was therefore calculated from the determinations 7 to 10, which were obtained 2 hours and 8 minutes after the preparation and later. The age of the surface at the last reading was 2 hours and 41 minutes. The mean surface tension of the test substance was 66.03 mN/m, standard deviation 0.06, at a temperature of 20.0 °C. Conclusions:
The mean surface tension of the test ite was determined to be 66.03 mN/m, standard deviation 0.06, at a temperature of 20.0 °C. According to the EC Directive the test item is not surface active because its surface tension is above 60 mN/m.
Executive summary:

A study was conducted according to OECD TG 115, Regulation (EC) No 440/2005 Part A, A.5, ASTM D1331-11 and ISO 304 (1985) to determine the surface tension of an aqueous solution of the test item using the ring method. The investigation was performed at 20 °C with a suspension of 0.0532 g test substance in 50 mL water. After fitting with glass stopper the flask was placed in a water bath where the solution was stirred. One hour and five minutes after starting of stirring a portion of the solution was taken from the flask and filtered through a 0.20 μm filter. For the measurements and calibration a ring made of a platin-iridium wire of 0.4 mm thickness and a mean circumference of 60 mm was used. The time passed since the solution was transferred to the measurement vessel was recorded for each determination. The mean surface tension of the test ite was determined to be 66.03 mN/m, standard deviation 0.06, at a temperature of 20.0 °C. According to the EC Directive the test item is not surface active because its surface tension is above 60 mN/m.
