Description of key information

In accordance with column 2 of REACH Annex VII, biotic degradation testing does not need to be conducted if the substance is inorganic as is the case for cerium ammonium nitrate. In addition, in accordance with column 2 of REACH Annex IX, simulation assays of biodegradation in water, sediment and soil need to be conducted if the chemical safety assessment indicates the need to investigate further the degradation of the substance and its degradation products. As cerium ammonium nitrate is inorganic, it is not subjected to biotic degradation and thus further testing is not necessary.
