Additional information

Tetrabutane has been tested for acute toxicity for all three tropic levels (fish, aquatic invertebrates and algae) and long-term toxicity in Daphnia. All the available data indicate that Tetrabutane is of low toxicity to aquatic organisms and the NOEC is equal to or higher than the solubility limit of the test substance. Additionally, Tetrabutan is not toxic to bacteria, as tested in an oxygen consumption test with Pseudomonas putida. Tetrabutane is therefore evaluated as not harmful to aquatic organisms.
