The measurement was carried out by laser diffraction method, dry measurement.

In case of using intensive shear forces and adding surface active substances and/or solvents (e.g. as a preparation for transmission electron microscopy) agglomerates and/or aggregates can be visualised, which may contain primary particles smaller than 100 nm.

The analysis by laser diffraction is volume- or mass-based size distribution. The evaluation of the number-based size distribution by EM is currently not a standard measurement as the available methods have not been thoroughly validated specifically for their use and furthermore the analysis is only possible for particles having a perfectly or nearly spherical shape (organic pigments are often plate-like (platelets, needle) particles). Therefore the registrant can not provide those data.
