Endpoint:
water solubility
Type of information:
experimental study
Adequacy of study:
key study
Study period:
from 2012-03-08 to 2012-05-31
Reliability:
1 (reliable without restriction)
Rationale for reliability incl. deficiencies:
guideline study
Remarks:
GLP study conducted in accordance with OECD and EU Guidelines with a valid GLP certificate.
Qualifier:
according to guideline
Guideline:
OECD Guideline 105 (Water Solubility)
Version / remarks:
1995
Deviations:
yes
Remarks:
The concentration of the oversaturated test item solution was 1 g/mL, however higher test item loading should have been applied according to the guideline. The 1 g/mL test item solution was very dense, and difficult to handle during filtration.
Qualifier:
according to guideline
Guideline:
EU Method A.6 (Water Solubility)
Version / remarks:
2008
Deviations:
no
GLP compliance:
yes (incl. QA statement)
Type of method:
flask method
Key result

test mat.
Temp.:
20 °C
pH:
4.4
Details on results:
The water solubility of Reactive Yellow F01-0555 is given as the mean of the measured saturation concentration of Reactive Yellow F01-0555 dissolved in water following 24, 48, and 72 hours of equilibration, if these concentration values do not differ by more than 15%.

The mean of Reactive Yellow F01-0555 concentrations in the water samples obtained after 24h, 48h and 72h equilibration was 704.34 g/L. The coefficient of variation of the concentrations is 0.2% (see Table 3 below); therefore, the results meet with the accuracy criteria of the OECD Guideline 105.

Calibration with standard solutions

The following calibration samples were applied: 0.5, 1, 2, 5, 20 and 50 µg/mL. The calibration graph was calculated applying weighted linear regression using 1/concentration as weighting factor (Table 1).

Conclusions:
Interpretation of results (migrated information): very soluble (> 10000 mg/L)
The mean of Reactive Yellow F01-0555 concentrations in the water samples obtained after 24h, 48h and 72h equilibration was 704.34 g/L. The coefficient of variation of the concentrations is 0.2% ; therefore, the results meet with the accuracy criteria of the OECD Guideline 105.
Water solubility of Reactive Yellow F01-0555 is 704.34 g/L at 20 ± 1°C.
Executive summary:

The purpose of this study was to determine the water solubility of Reactive Yellow F01-0555.which is specified by the saturation mass concentration of the test item in water at 20 ±1°C.

During the study, the flask method (OECD 105) was applied.

The coefficient of variation of the concentrations is 0.2% ; therefore, the results meet with the accuracy criteria of the OECD Guideline.

The water solubility of Reactive Yellow F01-0555 is 704.34 g/L at 20 ± 1°C.
