Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Hydrolysis

A study for determining the stability of C.I. Direct Blue 264 regarding hydrolysis is technically not feasible. But under consideration of the chromatograms received during the study of water solubility over a period of 34 days, it can be assumed that C.I. Direct Blue 264 is stable in the aquatic environment and abiotic degradation can be excluded.

Biodegradation in water: screening tests

Based on read-across with the chemical closely related substance C.I. Pigment Blue 15 (CAS No 147-14-8; EC No 205-685-1) C.I. Direct Blue 264 is considered to be "not readily biodegradable".

Adsorption/ desorption

The organic carbon partition coefficient (Koc) for C.I. Direct Blue 264 was predicted using the QSAR calculation of the Estimation Program Interface (EPI) Suite v4.11.

The Koc was estimated to be 9.19 L/kg (Log Kow method), and 1E+10 L/kg (MCI method). The results relate to the unaffected molecule of C.I. Direct Blue 264 as any decomposition (e.g. hydrolysis) of a substance is not taken into account by the program.

Henry´s Law constant

The calculation of the Henry's Law Constant for C.I. Direct Blue 264 using the ratio of vapour pressure to water solubility revealed a value of 7.9E-31 Pa m3/mol.
