Two ready biodegradation studies are available for isopentyl laurate (CAS No. 6309-51-9).

This key ready biodegradability study was carried out with isopentyl laurate (CAS No. 6309-51-9), following OECD Guideline 301 B and GLP (Junghans, 2008). Non-adapted domestic activated sludge was used as inoculum. During the 28-day test period, biodegradation reached 100%, based on CO2 evolution, and the 10-day window criterion was met.

In the supporting study conducted with isopentyl laurate (CAS No. 6309-51-9) ready biodegradability was tested according to OECD Guideline 301 B (Junghans, 2008). Non-adapted domestic activated sludge was used as inoculum. During the 28-day test period, biodegradation reached 100%, based on CO2 evolution, and the 10-day window criterion was met.

In conclusion, isopentyl laurate can be considered to be readily biodegradable according to OECD criteria.
