Description of key information

No acute toxicity data are available for chloro(methyl)silane. However, the substance hydrolyses rapidly in contact with moisture, generating hydrogen chloride (HCl). It is therefore expected to be corrosive to skin and, in accordance with Column 2 of REACH Annexes VII and VIII, it is not necessary to perform further testing for the acute oral, inhalation or dermal endpoints.
