Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

This substance is a light yellow waxy-solid with purity of 94.3 % and has a melting point of 68.7 °C, whereas boiling point could not be determined due to substance decomposition at temperature of about 380 °C. The substance is very less soluble in water at 20 °C (<0.1mg/L) and based on the chemical structure water reactivity is not to be expected.

The hydrolytic stability test performed using specialist estimation software, HYDROWIN concluded that the test substance would be stable towards hydrolysis at pH 4, 7 and 9. Further, the biodegradation of 3 % determined at the end of 28-day testing period indicate that the substance is not biodegradable and can be concluded to be stable in environment.

The auto-ignition temperature of the FAT 93580/A was found to be greater than 440 °C. According to OECD guideline 105, the partition coefficient n-octanol/water of FAT 93580/A at 20 °C, from the individual solubility in water and n-octanol, was determined to be log Pow = >6.20.

The substance is not classified (no R phrases) for the physical-chemical properties and is especially not classified as flammable, oxidising and explosives.

For this last reason the SEVESO II Directive (98/82) does not apply for such a substance and no mitigation procedure (work practices) are applied in the manufacturing operations. Related to these physical-chemical properties no concern for human health is therefore expected.
