Description of key information

The vapour pressure of MBS was estimated by using MPBPWIN v. 1.43. It is 6.79 * 10-4 Pa at 25°C (Currenta, 2010).

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

MBS was observed to decompose at 216.1°C before boiling (Flexsys, 2003). Due to no measured boiling point available, the estimated boiling point of 385.05°C was used to estimate the vapour pressure. The estimated vapour pressure is very similiar to the measured one of 4.45 * 10-4Pa used in the EPIWIN database. On the other hand, it is also in the same range of magnitude as the vapour pressures reported for the other sulfenamides with similar structure and molecular weight.
