Additional information

Acute studies on all three trophic levels were performed to investigate the aquatic toxicity of ethylviolet acetate. Invertebrates (Daphnia magna) turned out to be the most sensitive species revealing an EC50 (48 h) of 0.031 mg/L. Effects of ethylviolet acetate towards fish (Oncorhynchus mykiss) were found in the same range providing an LC50 (96 h) of 0.06 mg/L. Based on growth rate an EC50 of 0.68 mg/L for algae (Desmodesmus subspicatus) was obtained.

Additionally, chronic studies on daphnids are available.

In a long term GLP study according to OECD 211, a NOEC for reproduction of 0.0032 mg/L was determined for Daphnia magna (BASF 2012).
