Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

Not pyrophoric (based on chemical structure)
Not flammable in contact with water (based on chemical structure)
Not highly flammable (solids, Schürch, A.10)
Not readily flammable (solids, Bailey, UN TGD N.1)

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Flammability:
non flammable

Additional information

Inspection of the chemical structure, and experience in the handling and use of the substance, has indicated no properties associated with flammability on contact with water or pyrophoricity. This conclusion is carried forward for use in risk assessment, classification and labeling.

The substance failed to sustain a flame in one flammability of solids test. In another test the substance exhibited combustion properties, but with slow propagation. Both tests are considered to be adequate, reliable and relevant. Both support the conclusion "the substance is not readily combustable", which is carried forward for use in risk assessment, classification and labeling.

Justification for classification or non-classification

This substance does not meet the criteria for classification under Directive 67/548/EEC, as amended for the 28th time in Directive 2001/59/EC, Annex VI, section 2, 2.2.4. The available data are considered reliable and suitable for classification.

This substance does not meet the criteria for classification under Regulation (EC) 1272/2008, Annex I, Part 2, 2.7. The available data are considered reliable and suitable for classification.
