Description of key information

According to PBT profiler 3-oxoglutaric acid is 50% biodegradable in water in 8.7 days (half-life).
Also from QSAR prediction it is found that the substance degrades about 77.4% in 28 days.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Biodegradation in water:
readily biodegradable

Additional information

No. of studies reviewed for biodegradation in water and presented as weight of evidence; from reliable sources having Klimish rating 2 indicate the chemical 3 -oxoglutaric acid to be readily bio-degardable.

The summary of the results are presented below
