Description of key information

Toxicity of Propanediol Dicaprylate to the Aquatic Plant Lemna Gibba in a Semi-Static Growth Inhibition Test, according to OECD guideline 221. EC50(lemna gibba) > 100mg/L, NOEC (lemna gibba) >100mg/L

Key value for chemical safety assessment

EC50 for freshwater plants:
100 mg/L
EC10 or NOEC for freshwater plants:
100 mg/L

Additional information

The influence of Propanediol Dicaprylate on the growth of the freshwater plant Lemna gibba was assessed in a semi-static dose-response test, according to OECD guideline 221.

The 7-day EµC50 and EyC50 were determined to be > 100 mg test item/L frond number and dry weight, respectively.

The 7-day NOEµC, LOEµC, NOEyC and LOEyC for frond number were determined to be 12.5 and 25 mg test item/L, respectively.

The 7-day NOEµC, LOEµC, NOEyC and LOEyC for dry weight were determined to be = 100 and > 100mg test item/L, respectively.
