Since Propanediol Dicaprylate is readily biodegradable, it is expected to be efficiently eliminated by wastewater treatment plants and to be generally rapidly degraded in the environment. Propanediol Dicaprylate is non-volatile and of very low water solubility. Its adsorption/desorption partition coefficient of 5.8 indicates a moderate potential for binding to soil. Any remaining Propanediol Dicaprylate is therefore expected to be found predominantly in the soil compartment where it is quickly mineralized. The log Pow of 7.6 indicates a potential for bioaccumulation, however low BCF/BAF values indicate that the substance is rapidly metabolised and excreted by organisms and thus bioaccumulation is not expected.
