First-aid measures

General information:

Take affected persons out of danger area. Remove contaminated clothing immediately and dispose of safely. Clean body thoroughly.

After inhalation: Supply fresh air. Seek medical treatment in case of complaints.

After skin contact: Immediately wash with water and soap and rinse thoroughly. If skin irritation continues, consult a doctor.

After eye contact: Rinse opened eye for several minutes under running water. Seek medical treatment.

After swallowing:  Rinse out mouth and then drink plenty of water. Do not induce vomiting. Seek medical treatment.

Information for doctor:

Most important symptoms and effects, both acute and delayed:  Erythema, Skin irritation,

Hazards: Can evoke allergic reactions. Sensitization can be caused in individual cases after inhalation. Prevent inhalation absolutely.

Indication of any immediate medical attention and special treatment needed:

No specific antidote known. Treat symptomatically.

Fire-fighting measures

Suitable extinguishing agents: Compatible with all usual extinguishing media.

For safety reasons unsuitable extinguishing agents: Water with full jet

Special hazards arising from the substance or mixture

In case of fire, the following can be released: Nitrogen oxides (NOx), Carbon monoxide (CO), Sulphur dioxide (SO2), Irritant gases/vapours

Combustion gases of organic materials must in principle be graded as inhalation poisons.

Advice for firefighters

Protective equipment: Wear self-contained respiratory protective device. Wear fully protective suit.

Additional information: Dispose of fire debris and contaminated fire fighting water in accordance with official regulations

Accidental release measures

Environmental precautions: Do not discharge into surface waters/groundwater. Do not allow to penetrate the ground/soil.

Methods and material for containment and cleaning up:

Pick up mechanically.

Send for recovery or disposal in suitable receptacles. Containers in which spilt substance has been collected must be adequately labelled.

Handling and storage

Precautions for safe handling:

The prescribed regulations for work hygiene and relevant laws must be observed.

Ensure adequate ventilation. Prevent formation of dust. Any unavoidabledeposit of dust must be regularly removed.

Use appropriate industrial vacuum cleaners or central vacuum systems for dust removal.

Ensure that suitable extractors are available on processing machines

Information about fire - and explosion protection:

Dust can combine with air to form an explosive mixture.

Protect against electrostatic charges.

Prevent impact and friction.

Keep ignition sources away - Do not smoke.

Observe the general rules of industrial fire protection.

Storage:

Requirements to be met by storerooms and receptacles: Store only in the original receptacle.

Information about storage in one common storage facility: Not required.

Further information about storage conditions: Store in cool, dry conditions in well sealed receptacles. Protect from heat and direct sunlight.

Exposure controls / personal protection

1. Technical protection measures

Closed system.

All activities are executed by specialists or authorised personnel only.

Procedural and control technologies are implemented to minimise emission and any resulting exposure.

Handling procedures are well documented.

2. Organisational protection measures

Only properly trained and authorised personnel shall handle the substance. Procedures and handling are well documented.

In the case of cleaning and maintenance works, special procedures such as purging and washing shall be applied before the system is opened and entered

The usual precautionary measures are to be adhered to when handling chemicals.

Do not inhale dust / smoke / mist.

Avoid contact with the eyes and skin.

Do not eat, drink, smoke or sniff while working.

Keep away from foodstuffs, beverages and feed.

Immediately remove all soiled and contaminated clothing

Wash hands before breaks and at the end of work.

Use skin protection cream for skin protection.

3. Hand protection

Check protective gloves prior to each use for their proper condition.

After use of gloves apply skin-cleaning agents and skin cosmetics.

Do not reuse contaminated gloves !

Material of gloves: Nitopren 717, Nitrile rubber, NBR, Chloroprene rubber, CR, Recommended thickness of the material: ³ 0.65 mm

Penetration time of glove material: Level 6 = >480 min

The exact break trough time has to be found out by the manufacturer of the protective gloves and has to be observed.

The selection of the suitable gloves does not only depend on the material, but also on further marks of quality

and varies from manufacturer to manufacturer.

Accumulation of fine dust may entail the risk of a dust explosion in the presence of air.

Prevent accumulation of dust and formation of dust and air mixtures.

Disposal considerations

Product

In accordance with local authority regulations, take to special waste incineration plant.

With the disposal within the European Union the applicable waste key is to be used after the Waste Catalogue Ordinance (AVV).

Uncleaned packaging:

Empty contaminated packagings thoroughly. They may be recycled after thorough and proper cleaning.

Packagings that may not be cleansed are to be disposed of in the same manner as the product.

In case of passing empty and unclean containers to others please inform about possible dangers.

Recommended cleansing agents: Water, if necessary together with cleansing agents.
