- Results titration method: No difference of pH was observed during the titration. The assay by titration indicates no ionisable groups were present.

- Results spectrophotometric method: No absorbance was observed during the scan between 190 to 410 nm for the two potentials forms: diethyldithiocarbamic acid (acid form SH) and diethyldithiocarbamate (basic form S-) of the test item. This is implies that the test item does not dissociate into these forms.

Description of key information

A study in accordance with OECD TG 112 could not find measurable quantities of ionisable groups by means of the titration method and the spectrophotometric method.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

On review of the supplied structure for the test substance, there indeed appears to be no ionisable protons present that could be dissociated. Dissociation of Zn from the complex may occur but this cannot be measured using the acid-base dissociation specified in OECD 112.
