Data platform availability banner - registered substances factsheets

Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

First-aid measures

Description of first aid measures

Skin

Wash with plenty of soap and water. Remove contaminated clothing. If skin irritation occurs, get medical attention. Launder contaminated clothing before reuse.

Eyes

Flush with water at least 30 minutes. Get medical attention if eye irritation develops or persists.

Inhaled

Remove exposed person to fresh air if adverse effects are observed. If experiencing respiratory symptoms call a poison center or doctor.

Swallowed

DO NOT INDUCE VOMITING. Get immediate medical attention.

Advice for first-aid providers

When providing first aid always protect yourself against exposure to chemicals or blood born diseases by wearing gloves, masks and eye protection. After

providing first aid wash your exposed skin with soap and water.

Most important symptoms and effects, both acute and delayed

See section "Toxicological Information".

Indication of any immediate medical attention and special treatment needed

Note to physician: Treat symptomatically.

Fire-fighting measures

Fire Fighting Measures

Extinguishing Media

CO2, dry chemical, or foam. Water can be used to cool and protect exposed material.

Special hazards arising from substance or mixture

Burning may produce irritating, toxic and obnoxious fumes. Container may rupture in a fire situation. DO NOT USE a solid stream of water. See section 10 for

additional information.

Advice for firefighters

Recommend wearing self-contained breathing apparatus. Water may cause splattering. Use water to cool containers exposed to fire. Material creates a special

hazard because it floats on water. Do not release chemically contaminated water into drains, soil or surface water.

Accidental release measures

Accidental Release Measures

Personal precautions, protective equipment and emergency procedures

Personal protective equipment must be worn. Avoid contact with skin or eyes. Ventilate area if spilled in a confined space or other poorly ventilated area. Material on floor may be slippery.

Environmental precautions

Material will float on water. Do not flush into surface water, sanitary sewer or ground water system.

Methods and material for containment and cleaning up

Shut off leak if without risk. Pick up free liquid for recycle and/or disposal. Residual liquid can be absorbed on inert material.

Reference to other sections

See sections "Exposure Controls/Personal Protection" and "Disposal Considerations" for additional information.

Handling and storage

Handling and Storage

Precautions for safe handling

Use with adequate ventilation. Keep containers closed when not in use. Do not discharge into drains or the environment, dispose to an authorized waste collection point. Use appropriate containment to avoid environmental contamination. Avoid contact with skin or eyes. Product can accumulate static charge when handled. Equipment should be grounded. Wash thoroughly after handling. Contaminated work clothing should not be allowed out of the workplace. Launder contaminated clothing before reuse. Empty container contains product residue which may exhibit hazards of product. Dispose of packaging or containers in accordance with local, regional, national and international regulations.

Pumping Temperature

Not determined.

Maximum Handling Temperature

Not determined.

Maximum Loading Temperature

Not determined.

Conditions for safe storage, including any incompatibilites

Store in a cool, dry, well-ventilated area. Keep container tightly closed. Do not store in open, unlabeled or mislabeled containers.

Maximum Storage Temperature

Not determined.

Specific end use(s)

End uses are listed in an attached exposure scenario when one is required.

Exposure controls / personal protection

Exposure Controls/Personal Protection

Control parameters

None known.

Other Exposure Limits

None known.

Exposure controls

Prevent inhalation by providing effective general and, when necessary, local exhaust ventilation to draw spray, aerosol, fume, mist, or vapor away from workers.

Eye/face protection

Safety glasses. If potential for splash or mist exists, wear chemical goggles or faceshield.

Skin protection

Consult clothing/glove manufacturer to determine appropriate type of glove for given situation. Gloves should always be inspected before each use and discarded if they show tears, pinholes, or signs of wear. Use good industrial hygiene practices to avoid skin contact. If contact with the material may occur wear chemically protective gloves. Long sleeve shirt is recommended. Use chemically protective boots when necessary to avoid contaminating shoes. Do not wear rings, watches or similar apparel that could entrap the material and cause a skin reaction. Launder contaminated clothing before reuse.

Respiratory Protection

Under normal use conditions, respirator is not usually required.

Hygiene Measures

Wash thoroughly after handling this product.

Environmental exposure controls

See section "Accidental Release Measures" for details.

Stability and reactivity

Stability and Reactivity

Reactivity

Carefully review all information provided in the following sections.

Chemical stability

Material is normally stable at moderately elevated temperatures and pressures.

Possibility of hazardous reactions

Will not occur.

Conditions to avoid

Do not expose to excessive heat, ignition sources, or oxidizing materials.

Incompatible materials

None known, avoid contact with reactive chemicals.

Hazardous decomposition products

Smoke, carbon monoxide, carbon dioxide, aldehydes and other products of incomplete combustion. Under combustion conditions, oxides of the following

elements will be formed: nitrogen.

Disposal considerations

Waste treatment methods

All disposal practices must be in accordance with local, regional, national and international regulations. Do not dispose in landfill.

Dispose of packaging or containers in accordance with local, regional, national and international regulations.
