Additional information

In two non-GLP-studies, conducted with Zebra fish and Orfe, respectively, no mortalities were observed up to the highest test concentration of 1000 mg/L. In another study conducted with Zebra fish but under GLP conditions, no mortalities were observed at a higher test concentration of 1800 mg/L. At the next higher test concentration of 2500 mg/L, the mortality of the animals was 90%. No statistical estimation of the LC50 was performed. Therefore, the short-term toxicity of Acesulfame K to Zebra fish was given as being within the range of 1800 - 2500 mg/L. As the definite value is unknown, the lower one was chose for risk assessment purposes.
