Description of key information

In a GLP expert statement it was concluded that the substance is not highly flammable in contact with water as the substance lacks structural alerts, is known to be soluble in water and experience in handling showed that the substance does not react with water. In accordance with Section 1 of REACH Annex XI,  testing was not performed.

In a GLP expert statement it was concluded that the substance has no pyrophoric properties as the substance lacks structural alerts and experience in handling showed that the substance does not ignite spontaneously when coming into contact with air at normal temperatures. In accordance with Section 1 of REACH Annex XI,  testing was not performed.

Justification for classification or non-classification

Justification for non-classification according to CLP Regulation (EC) No 1272/2008:

 

Because the flash point is > 60°C classification as a flammable liquid is not necessary.

Based on the expert statements, the substance does not have to be classified as a pyrophoric substance or as a substance which in contact with water emits flammable gases.

Because the substance has a melting point of < 160°C, the substance does not need to be considered for self-heating classification.
