Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

Less than 10% by mass is of particle size <75 µm, less than 1% is <30 µm and no measurable mass is <10 µm.

Additional information

A GLP study was conducted to determine the particle size distribution of DMBA according to a standard method.

A portion (approximately 10 g) of DMBA was weighed into the coarsest of a nest of sieves (100 mm diameter) of aperture sizes 400, 125, 75, 30 and 10 µm. The nest was orbitally shaken for 30 minutes with tapping on an Inclyno sieve shaker, and the proportion of the test material passing through each sieve determined gravimetrically. The test was performed in duplicate.

The results of the sieve analysis of DMBA indicate that less than 10% by mass is of particle size <75 µm, less than 1% is <30 µm and no measurable mass is <10 µm.
