Description of key information
Flammable solid.
Key value for chemical safety assessment
- Flammability:
- flammable
Additional information
The rate of burn over 100 mm of TADT-CLE resulted to be 6 seconds and wetted zone stopped flame propagation for at least 4 minutes.
On the basis of this finding the substance resulted to have a flammability potential.

Justification for classification or non-classification
According to CLP regulation (EC1272/2008), 2.7 section, flammable solids, a flammable solid shall be classified in one of the two categories for this class using Method N.1 as described in 33.2.1 of the UN Recommendations on the Transport of Dangerous Goods, Manual of Tests and Criteria in accordance with the following criteria:
- category 1: burning rate test. Substances and mixtures other than metal powders: (a) wetted zone does not stop fire and (b) burning time < 45 seconds or burning rate > 2.2 mm/s.
- category 2: burning rate test. Substances and mixtures other than metal powders: (a) wetted zone stops the fire for at least 4 minutes and (b) burning time < 45 seconds or burning rate > 2.2 mm/s.
The rate of burn over 100 mm of TADT-CLE resulted to be 6 seconds and wetted zone stopped flame propagation for at least 4 minutes.
In conclusion, according to CLP regulation (EC1272/2008) TADT-CLE is classified as solid flammable, category 2 (Flam. Sol. 2, H228).
