Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

PBT assessment: overall result

PBT status:
the substance is not PBT / vPvB
Justification:

Persistence: The test substance was "readily biodegradable" in an ISO Draft (BOD Test for Insoluble Substances). Diisotridecyl phthalate (CAS-Nr 27253 -26 -5) reached a degradation of 71% after 28 days. therefore DTDP is not persistent and not very persistent.

Bioaccumulation: Based on reliable measured and modeled study results, it is concluded that DTDP is neither Bioaccumulative (B) nor Very Bioaccumulative (vB). Measured and modeled BCF results are less than 2000.

Toxicity: DTDP is not toxic (T) based on results from chronic aquatic toxicity studies that show no effects at levels equal to or even exceeding its maximum water solubility and mammalian toxicity studies that support not classifying DTDP as carcinogenic, mutagenic, toxic for reproduction, assigning classifications of T, R48 or Xn, R48, or STOT categories.

The overall conclusion is that DTDP does not meet the PBT or vPvB criteria.
