Description of key information

EL50 (48h) = 51 mg/L for Daphnia magna

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

As there are no data available for 2-hexyldecan-1-ol ethoxylated (< 2.5 EO, CAS 52609-19-5) the acute toxicity to aquatic invertebrates is assessed on the basis of data from a study with a similar alcohol ethoxylate (iso-stearyl-ethoxylate 2EO, CAS 52292-17-8). The test was conducted according to OECD 202 and GLP, with Daphnia magna as test organism. Due to the very low water solubility of the substance, the test media were prepared as Water Accommodated Fraction (WAF). In the study an EL50 (48h) of 51 mg/L was determined (BASF, 2000).
