Description of key information

The No Observed Effect Concentration (NOEC) of 3-amino-4-hydroxybenzenesulphonic acid in Aquatic algae (Pseudokirchnerella subcapitata) in 72 hrs study on the basis of effect on growth was estimated to be 43.31719 mg/l. Thus considering the CLP Criteria for aquatic classification of the substance , it is concluded that 3-amino-4-hydroxybenzenesulphonic acid could not exhibit short term toxicity to green algae (Pseudokirchnerella subcapitata).

Key value for chemical safety assessment

EC10 or NOEC for freshwater algae:
43.317 mg/L

Additional information

The No Observed Effect Concentration (NOEC) of 3-amino-4-hydroxybenzenesulphonic acid in Aquatic algae (Pseudokirchnerella subcapitata) in 72 hrs study on the basis of effect on growth was estimated to be 43.31719 mg/l.Also the weight of evidence study shows the EC 50 value to be 1712.563 mg/L.
