The parent substance Dimethoxymethylsilane (CAS 16881 -77-9) and its hydrolysis products have low log Kow values (<3) and thus have low potential for adsorption. Therefore, in accordance with Column 2 of REACH Annex VIII, the adsorption/desorption screening test does not need to be conducted, and also there is no need for further information on adsorption/desorption.

For the environmental exposure assessment, adsorption has been estimated based on the log Kow using the TGD (Technical Guidance Document) non-hydrophobics equation. The log Koc of the silanol hydrolysis product was calculated to be -0.23.
