Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

A weight of evidence approach is made for the calculation of the vapour pressure of TMTM (tetramethylthiurame monosulphide): 1 measure reported in the HPVis dossier of TMTM, 2 calculations are made using QSAR software (MPBWIn and SPARC) and 2 measures of TMTD. We concluded that VP of TMTM is in the range 2e-2 till 2e-5 Pa at 25°C.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Vapour pressure:
0.002 Pa
at the temperature of:
25 °C

Additional information

A weight of evidence approach is made for the calculation of the vapour pressure of TMTM (tetramethylthiurame monosulphide): 1 measure reported in the HPVis dossier of TMTM, 2 calculations are made using QSAR software (MPBWIn and SPARC) and 2 measures of TMTD:

1- According to the dossier HPVIS (US EPA) submitted by the American Chemistry Council Rubber and Plastic Additives Panel, vapour pressure of TMTM tetramethylthiuram monosulphide is about 2.7e-2 Pa at 25°C.

2- The substance Tetramethylthiurame monosulphide was predicted to have a vapour pressure of 0.0344 pa. With aprecision of QSAR of log unit 0.285, VP is on the range : 0.0178 -0.066 Pa at 25°C

3 -According to an estimation with SPARC software, vapour pressure of TMTM (tetramethylthiurame monosulphide) is about 0.0011 Pa at 25°C (the mean absolute error in log unit is 0.107). As a consequence the vapour pressure is in the range 0.00057 till 0.0021 Pa at 25°C.

Finally, we concluted that VP of TMTM is in the range 2e-5 till 2e-2 Pa at 25°C.
