Additional information

Phosphine is rapidly photodegraded in air with half lives reported between 5 and 28h in the literature. However no direct photolysis with sun is expected. If phosphine is released into water or at the surface of soil it will rapidly go through volatilisation processes. On the other hand if phosphine is trapped beneath the soil surface it will be adsorbed. In the end oxidation processes are expected to lead to phosphate compounds.
