Description of key information

Hydrolysis information is available for the structural analogue trimethylolpropane diallyl ether (2,2-bis(allyloxymethyl)butan-1-ol ). Trimethylolpropane diallyl ether was found to be hydrolytically stable.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Half-life for hydrolysis:
1 yr
at the temperature of:
12 °C

Additional information

A screening study was conducted in accordance with OECD 111. A solution of ca 0.49 mg/ml of the structural analogue trimethylolpropane diallyl ether was stored at 50°C for 5 days. The amount of trimethylolpropane diallyl ether recovered was greater than 90% at pH 4, 7 and 9 indicating that the substance is stable to hydrolysis at environmentally relevant temperatures and pH's i.e. half-life of greater than 1 year.
