Description of key information

Studies are available for ready biodegradability and adsorption, along with a QSAR estimation of BCF. Amyl cinnamic aldehyde has been shown to be readily biodegradable as the substance was 90% degraded in a 28-day OECD 301F test. The log Koc for the substance was calculated to be in the range of 3.88 to 3.96 (Koc= 7.58x103- 9.15x103). The log BCF was estimated to be 2.77 using BCFWIN.

Results from a study on removal of the read-across substance hexyl cinnamic aldehyde from a waste water treatment facility indicate that removal of amyl cinnamic aldehyde in the municipal STP will be >99%. See section 13.
