Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

The substance is placed on the market as solid pellets > 40 mg & > 4 mm diameter. Dustiness testing was carried out and the potential to generate fine particles via abrasion was also assessed.
Dustiness test:
Total Dustiness (airborne fraction): 16.92 mg/g (experimental results; Parr, 2014).
Mass median aerodynamic diameter of airborne fraction: MMAD1 = 26.47 µm, MMAD2 = 31.61 µm (distribution fitted to cascade impactor data).
Geometric standard deviation of MMAD: GSD1 = 1.60, GSD2 = 4.95.
Fractional deposition in human respiratory tract (MPPD model, based on calculated MMAD):
Head (ET): 49.1 %
Tracheobronchial (TB): 0.3 %
Pulmonary (PU): 0.2 %
Abrasion test:
Total amount of abraded material:5.4 % of the starting material.
Total dustiness (airborne fraction) of the abraded fraction: 2.63 % based on the total amount of starting material.
Mass median aerodynamic diameter of airborne fraction: MMAD1 = 11.57 µm, MMAD 2 = 20.00 µm.
Geometric standard deviation of MMAD: GSD1 = 1.18, GSD2 = 4.54.
Fractional deposition in human respiratory tract (MPPD model, based on calculated MMAD):
Head (ET): 83.5 %,
Tracheobronchial (TB): 0.7 %,
Pulmonary (PU): 0.4 %.

Additional information

Substance as placed on the market: MMAD1 = 12.50 µm, MMAD2 = 29.09 µm and GSD1 = 4.09, GSD2 = 1.49.
