In order to identify of whether the substance meets the definition of a self-reactive substance, determinations were performed according to section 28, test series H of the UN-MTC. A heat accumulation storage test, according to UN-MTC, test series H.4 with Dewar vessels was conducted. In this SADT test, no exothermic effects were recorded and a heat release of the Dewar of 36.7 mW/kg*K is obtained. Description of key information

1) Flammability: The substance did not burn down or burn up determined according to the UN N.1 method and is a non-flammable solid.
2) Flammability in contact with water: In accordance with section 1 of REACH Annex XI, the study on flammability in contact with water does not need to be conducted as the substance does not contain any metals or metalloids and therefore will not release flammable gases in contact with water.
3) Pyrophoric properties: In accordance with section 1 of REACH Annex XI, a study on pyrophoric properties does not need to be conducted as it is scientifically unjustified. According to the additional classification considerations in CLP Annex I, 2.9.4 and 2.10.4, the classification procedure for pyrophoric solids or liquids does not need to be applied as experience in manufacture and handling shows that the substance does not ignite spontaneously on coming into contact with air at normal temperatures, i.e. the substance is known to be stable at room temperature for prolonged periods of time. Based on experience during handling and use, no pyrophoric properties were observed and the structure does not give an indication reference to pyrophoric properties.
4) Self-heating properties: No exothermic effects were determined up to 220 °C. The substance has no self-heating properties.

Justification for classification or non-classification

The substance is not legally classified in the Annex I of Directive 67/548/EEC. According to the information summarized below, no classification on flammability is needed:

The substance is testsed to be not flammable, it has no pyrophoric properties, no flammability in contact with water, is not a self-heating and a self-reactive substance, is not an organic peroxide; and hence no classification according to both Directive 67/548/EEC and GHS (Regulation EC 1272/2008).
