Description of key information

Based upon the physico-chemical properties and BCF value of 10 for the chemical 2-Naphthalenol, 1-[[4-(phenylazo)phenyl]azo]-, ar',ar''-Me derivs, it has been deduced that the chemical has potentially low bio-accumulative property and hence shall be  eliminated from the body system through urine or feaces.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Bioaccumulation potential:
low bioaccumulation potential

Additional information

It has been demonstrated that bioaccumulation can be predicted from octanol-water partitioning when the partition coefficient (log Kow) lies between 2 and 6. There is also a relationship between the Kow of a chemical and its potential for biomagnification, with uptake efficiency increasing with increasing log Kow for values between 3 and 6. For compounds with a log Kow greater than 6, uptake efficiency begins to decrease. The Log Kow value of this chemical is 8.02 suggesting reduced bio-availability and thereby low bio-accumulation potential.
