Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

THPC is not considered as surface active, by mean of read across with its parent salt THPS.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Surface tension:
68.6
in mN/m at 20°C and concentration in mg/L:
1 000

Additional information

Because of the salt nature of THPC, hazard properties of chloride salt could be predicted to be equivalent to hazard properties of the sulphate salt (THPS). The read across with a similar substance as THPS is then considered as relevant.

The surface tension of an aqueous solution of pure THPS was determined according to the EC A5 (2008) ring test method.

The mean surface tension of the test item at 1g/L in demineralized water was: 68.6±0.5 mN/m (corrected value).

The test item was not considered as surface-active in our experimental conditions.
