Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

As already stated in IUCLID section 5.2.3, Biodegradation in soil, direct and indirect exposure of the soil compartment is unlikely.

Thus, the following studies need not to be conducted in accordance with column 2 of REACH Annex IX and X:

- long- and short-term toxicity to terrestrial organisms (required in IUCLID section 9.4.1 and 9.4.4)

- short-term toxicity to invertebrates-antropodes (required in IUCLID section 9.4.1)

- long- and short-term toxicity to plants (required in IUCLID section 9.4.3 and 9.4.6)

- Effects on soil micro-organisms (required in IUCLID section 9.4.2).

Moreover, TODI reacts very fast with moisture and the absorption (to sediment / to soil) of its product of hydrolysis is assumed to be very low or negligible (see IUCLID section 5.4.1 Adsorption / desorption).

Due to the fast reaction with moisture, MDI (structural similar to TODI) isomers and polymers are assumed to form inert, insoluble solid polyureas in soil.

Potentially persisting reaction products of the degradation products of TODI were not considered as direct and indirect exposure of the soil compartment is unlikely.
