Description of key information

In accordance with column 2 of REACH 1907/2006/EC Annex IX, section 9.2.1.3, soil simulation testing does not need to be conducted as TODI has no high potential for adsorption to soil. In addition the direct and indirect exposure of soil is unlikely and TODI undergoes very fast hydrolysis under environmental conditions.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

In addition, due to the fast reaction with moisture, MDI (methylenediphenyl diisocyanate; CAS no. 26447-40-5, EC no. 247-714-0, structural similar to TODI) isomers and polymers are assumed to form inert, insoluble solid polyureas in soil (EU Risk Assessment Report: Methylenediphenyl diisocyanate (MDI), Vol. 59, 2005). As MDI is structural similar to TODI, this can also be assumed for TODI.
