According to REACH Annex IX Column 2, a bioaccumulation study in fish does not need to be conducted if the substance has a low potential for bioaccumulation. The substance has a log Kow < 3 which indicates a low potential for bioaccumulation. It is readily biodegradable and hence rapidly removed from the environment, leading to low concentrations in aquatic organisms. In addition, readily biodegradable substances are likely to be rapidly metabolised in organisms [Guidance on information requirements and chemical safety assessment; Chapter R.7c: Endpoint specific guidance].
