Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Endpoint:
partition coefficient
Type of information:
experimental study
Adequacy of study:
key study
Study period:
12 - 21 September 2006
Reliability:
1 (reliable without restriction)
Rationale for reliability incl. deficiencies:
guideline study
Qualifier:
according to guideline
Guideline:
EU Method A.8 (Partition Coefficient)
Deviations:
no
GLP compliance:
yes (incl. QA statement)
Type of method:
HPLC method
Partition coefficient type:
octanol-water
Analytical method:
high-performance liquid chromatography
Key result
Type:
log Pow
Partition coefficient:
>= 0.856 - <= 0.888
Temp.:
30 °C
pH:
7.2
Details on results:
The two partially resolved peaks observed for the sample solution injections were attributed to the two optical isomers present in the test material.
The mobile phase was adjusted to an approximately neutral pH to ensure the test material was tested in its non-ionised form. The dissociation constants of the two amide functional groups were estimated to be less than 0 and greater than 14 (ACD, pKa version 8.03).
Conclusions:
The partition coefficient of the test substance has been determined to be 7.18 to 7.72, log10 Pow 0.856 to 0.888.
